1. OVERVIEW
This policy explains how Signature Editions and Collector Editions from Adam Piotr Kossowski are authenticated, documented, and verified to protect the integrity and value of your fine art print.
2. AUTHENTICATION FEATURES
2.1 Tamper-Proof Edition Label
Each limited edition print includes a non-removable tamper-proof label affixed to the reverse of the print.
This label displays only a unique edition code, which:
• Is permanently linked to the specific print
• Cannot be transferred or removed without visible damage
• Is repeated on the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) for verification
• Is recorded in the edition database for provenance
All artwork details, paper type, and production information appear on the COA, not on the label.
2.2 Embossed Artist Seal
Every limited edition print includes an embossed artist seal on the front of the print, bottom-centre.
This seal confirms that the artwork has been inspected, approved, and authenticated by the artist.
2.3 Artist’s Signature
Each print includes the artist’s handwritten signature, applied in archival ink or pencil appropriate to the paper.
The signature appears:
• On the front border, or
• On the reverse of the print for borderless images or specific designs
2.4 Edition Numbering
Each print carries a handwritten edition number (e.g., 12/25), applied:
• On the front border (preferred) inside the image on the bottom right, or
• On the reverse if the print format requires it
Edition numbers are never reused and remain permanently recorded.
2.5 Edition Records
Comprehensive edition records are maintained by the artist and include:
• Unique edition code (from the tamper-proof label)
• COA number and print details
• Edition number
• Date of production
• Paper type and print method
• Buyer details (where provided)
• Replacement designation history (if applicable)
These records ensure lifetime traceability and protect collector value.
3. VERIFICATION OF AUTHENTICITY
Collectors may request verification at any time by:
-
Emailing orders@adamkossowski.com with their edition number or unique code
-
Providing proof of purchase (if available)
-
Referencing the unique edition code found on the tamper-proof label
Verification will confirm whether the print matches the official edition records.
4. REPLACEMENT POLICY
In cases of authorised replacement (as outlined in the Refund Policy), the replacement print will:
• Feature the same image
• Carry a replacement designation
• Receive a new tamper-proof code and label
• Be issued with an updated COA referencing the replacement
• Have the original edition number and code permanently retired in the edition records
This safeguards the integrity of the edition and ensures no duplicate or ambiguous records ever exist.
